So, in order to date her, Jonathan pretends to be blind.


Born in Bangkok, Thailand, Richard grew up in a small town in Illinois. As a teen, he watched Jaws, fell in love with movies, and never looked back. A graduate of the film programs at both The University of Iowa and The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, he has worked as a production assistant, videographer, video editor, continuity director, and script reader for two agencies. Several of his previous screenplays have placed in national competitions, and he has optioned a feature-length mystery/thriller script, Time Trap, to a Los Angeles production company.

Recipient of a Cine Eagle and a Regional Emmy for his short films, Richard is currently an Associate Professor of Cinema at McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland, where he teaches courses in film analysis, production, and screenwriting. Two of his favorite films are the 1926 silent comedy The General with Buster Keaton, for its brilliant visual storytelling, and 1942’s Casablanca, for its sparkling dialogue. The best 3-D movie he’s ever seen is Hitchcock’s 1954 thriller Dial M For Murder. Love is Blind is his fifth screenplay and his first attempt at romantic comedy.
